1966 CHEVY C10 NAMED FLO

In December, OTTO’s founder and CEO Eli Kogan added this 1966 Chevrolet C10 to his personal collection. It was one of those “fateful” moments on Craigslist, when Eli saw the ad for the truck and thought to himself, “there is no way this can be real.” The ad claimed the truck to be original in every way, rust free and more. The next day, a Friday afternoon, Eli went to visit the owner of the truck just an hour away from OTTO. Sure enough, he had bought the truck nearly 23 years prior and kept it in immaculate shape.

With a panoramic cab, heavy-duty springs, a V8 engine and 3-speed auto among other options, it was originally purchased as someone’s weekend truck and babied as such. Everything on the truck was original, down to the wooden bed. The original plastic clips still on the spark plug wires, and chalk marks on the firewall from the factory. Best of all, not a spec of rust!

Eli being Eli, he couldn’t leave it alone. Though the drivetrain was original, it was tired. Knowing the truck would serve as a frequent daily driver for Eli and the shop dogs, Driven Speed Shop was enlisted for a mechanical makeover. With the originality of the truck in mind, the original engine and transmission were removed, cleaned and set on pallets for storage. They were promptly replaced with a small block Chevy crate motor and 700r4 transmission. Now, with 400 horsepower and four speeds, the truck is the perfect daily driver with the ultimate nostalgic touch. Hidden under the original air cleaner is a Holley Sniper EFI system, making the truck turn-key reliable. The truck is now ready for years of driving duty to come in the OTTO stable.
